Kathleen Buoymaster, Inc., established in 1985, is an Interior Design Firm oriented toward high-end residential and corporate clients.  Before founding KBI, Kathleen was a senior designer for the prestigious firm of Cannell and Chaffin, Los Angeles/La Jolla.  She is a graduate of Duke University and the Interior Designer’s Guild of Los Angeles and has extensive experience in both commercial and residential projects consisting of contemporary and traditional design.  Her variety of clients has expanded her business domestically and internationally. 

Whether remodeling a 17,000 square foot home or upholstering one chair (no project is too small), emphasis is placed on highly personalized service.   KBI's full-scale design services include initial consultations, space planning, custom furniture design/upholstery, furniture procurement, custom window treatments, and exterior space design.  As well as, full project management, coordination and collaboration with trade vendors, contractors and architects.

Kathleen received the American Institute of Architects award for excellence in residential design.  The Fashion Institute International awarded Kathleen with the “2001 Style Award” as San Diego’s top interior designer.  The award was given for excellence in her field as well as community involvement.  This was the first time this honor was given to an interior designer.  You can find Kathleen in the directory of Who’s Who in Interior Design, as well as Barron’s Who’s Who in Interior Design, which is an international book of designer’s and architect’s projects.
